Amanda E.Wade, The youngest daughter of Jefferson and Mary J.Wade wasborn in Ripley county,Indiana,Sept. 5,1853; Departed this life Oct.4,1904,aged 51 years and 29 days.
She was married to Stephen A.Trisler Jan.13,1878, with whom she livedhappily until the day of her death. To this union were born fourchildren. Two of these Mary Eva, and Cletus Jefferson, died in infancy.The death of their third child, Ethel, which occured August 26,1899brought sorrow so deep that it could be healed only by the comforterwhich is the Holy Christ. Ellen (as she was commonly called) was a womanof deep piety. She united with the Tanglewood Baptist Church at the ageof 21, and was ever a faithful follower of Christ. She was a dutifuldaughter, a faithful wife and a devoted mother. She leaves to mourn herloss a husband, one son, one sister and many relatives and friends.

Alexander Wake was the first county judge of Jessamine county under theConstitution of 1850. He was born in Fauquier County, Virginia, in 1797,and died in Nicholasville in 1867. Through his maternal and paternalancestors, he inherited the love of liberty, for both took part in thewar for independence. In the beginning of the present century, JudgeWake's father removed to Woodford County. He brought with him fromVirginia, a large number of slaves. Judge Wake commenced the study oflaw and was admitted to the practice of his profession in 1820. In 1851,when he was elected County judge, he refused to grant license to sellliquor. He was a fearless man in the discharge of his official duty; heknew neither friend or foe on the bench; he followed the dictates of hisconscience and his judgment and commanded the respect and confidence ofhis fellow-citizens.
