There is arecord of Cornelius giving consent for Nancy to marry Thomas Lane on 8August 1783 in Bedford County, Virginia. Cornelius gave permission 2years earlier for his daughter, Nancy, to marry John Overstreet. It is supposed that William Dabney accompanied his brother Nathan fromVirginia, near Lynchburg, in 1808. He lived awhile in Wayne County,Kentucky and afterwards moved to Indiana. His son Benjamin, when only14 years of age, went into the army during the War of the Revolution,and was at the Battle of Guilford Court House.
