WILLIS, Mrs. HENRIETTA, whose maiden name was Earnest, a sister to Jacob and Thomas Earnest. She was born Sept. 15, 1783, in South Carolina, and married in Simpson county, Kentucky, to William Willis. They had seven children, and Mr. Willis died in Kentucky. Mrs. Willis, with her children, came to Sangamon county about 1825. Of her children--
RICHARD, spent ten or twelve years in Sangamon county, and went to lowa. He left there in 1849 or '50, and was last heard from in California.
ELIZABETH, born in Simpson county, Kentucky, married William Simpson. See his name.
STARLING, born in Kentucky, married in Sangamon county to Sarah Halliday, had children, moved to Knox county, Illinois, and from there to Oregon.
WILLIAM went from Sangamon county to Wisconsin, married there, and died from injuries by a threshing machine.
MARTHA married in Sangamon county to Samuel Jones, moved to Knox county, had three children and he died. She married Benjamin Sims, and she died.
THOMAS went from Sangamon county to Iowa on business, and died there.
DRUCILLA, born in Kentucky, married in Sangamon county to Asher Simpson. They have eight children, and reside near Clinton, Dewitt county, Illinois.

Personally appeared before me Tho. Hawkins Esq. an acting Justice of thePeace in and for the county of Jessamine State of
Kentucky Mr. Conrad Earthenhouse, resident of the county & stateaforesaid and who is by reason of bodily infermity prevented fromappearing in open court and who is Eighty Eight years & who being dulysworn according to law doth on his oath make the following statement inorder to obtain the benefits of the provisions made by the Act ofCongress passed June 7, 1832. That he enlisted in the army of the UnitedStates in the year of 1780 in the spring as a private of the malitia inthe Brigade of General stevens and went from hanover county virginia andmarched with the regular troops of Delaware and Maryland towardsCharleston south Carolina and in the
summer they arrived at deep river and was Joined by a vast number oftroops from the north carolina and Lord Cornwallis the British Commanderin the month of August attacked the Americans in the night and theAmericans had the better of the engagement while it lasted but they soonceased fighting until day break when the action commenced and Generalstevens brigade immediately fled and the Americans were defeated and thiswas called the Battle of Camden and his service has just been of sixmonths duration and when General green arrived in North Carolina and tookthe command of the army the company in which he was an an officer by thename of Morgan was sent to the men and after being there a while theBritish General with horse troops came to attact the Americans and theAmerican fled and the British took after them and when the britishovertook them the Commander of our company Major Pickins which gave
way and they went to the other company and made them give way when theAmericans horse troops fell on the British Troops
and give our men time to come to order & help in the Battle and we theAmericans whip the British badly and took a heap of them as conqueredprisioners and the Battle was called the Battle of the Cowpens. Afterthis Battle the American General Morgan went on back towards Virginia andcrossed a River while amediately rose seen after the british would notcross it and General Green came and took the Command and the Americansstill kept towards virginia and crossed a river and took all the beats tothere side and kept on and broak up the reads by cutting trees until theycrossed another river and the Americans armey received more troops fromVirginia and went
to Guilford when there was a long and hot Battle and the British staid onthe ground but the Americans had the best of the battle. some short timeafter this battle he went to Hanover county Virginia and then volunteeredand served a lower of three months and was in the lower part of virginiaand was at the surrender of Lord Cornwallis which was in the fall of 1781but he dose not recollect the names of the officers he was under but thatPrince Lafayatte and General Washington was the American Generals andafter the surrender of the British army under Cornwallis he went to redstone in Virginia and volunteered under Major Hickman to fight theIndians and one of Major Hickman's sons was the captain and he servedabout one whole year under Major and Captain Hickman against the Indianswhich was on the frontier country west of hagerstown in Maryland and hewas a soldier he further declares that he was born in Germany in Europeand in the town of ? and come as a soldier to fight the Americans in 1776and did continue as a soldier under the british stationed in New Yorkuntil Commodore Collier in the first part of the year 1779 landed inVirginia where he then deserted and went to the Americans and then
joined the army of the United states under General stevens in 1780 in thespring and continued with until the spring of 1781 and dose not know thecompany of officers names and he knew but few English words then and notmany more now and knows not how his tower was laid off. But knows wellthat he was in and continued in actual service the whole length of timehe has stated and that he neus (knows) of no one by whom he can prove theafore said services for the United States but that he could have done soby Jacob Sikes who was in company with him when he left Germany and waswith me when I deserted and in all the fore said services and who died inJessamine
county about ten years ago. he hereby relinquishes every claim whateverto a pension or security except the present and
declares that his name is not on the pension roll of the agency of anystate whatever and he further states that the reason he has not here tofore applied for a pension is that he knew not by whom he could prove hisservices owing to the death of the afore Jacob Sikes.
