She says that her grandfather, Weston, was born in Garrard Co. She says he died in High Bridge in Jessamine Co. and that he and his wife are buried right here in the Wilmore cemetery along with several of Westons family. She further declares that she was married to the said George Findley on the first day of October 1795 that her husband, the aforesaid George Findley, died on the 25th day of June 1849 at which time his certificate of pension was surrendered to the Pension Agent at Pulaski in said state; that she was not married to the said George Findley prior to his leaving the service, but the marriage took place previous to the second of January eighteen hundred , viz, at the time above stated. Thomas Finleys migrated to Missouri in 1843, possibly attracted by the land boom at Marion City, Marion County. Since this town never developed, due to flooding in the bottomland of the Mississippi River, the couple settled near Palmyra, just a few miles to the west. Here they farmed and reared a family of thirteen children. Eight died in childhood. Of the remaining five, only Ellen lived to an old age. Ellen Finley married William M.
