GEORGE M. HENDREN, M. D., was born in Madison County, Ky., March 17, 1846,
and is the third son of William and Anna E. Reynolds, who were born in the
same county and of English-German extraction. His grandfather, Doven
Hendren, was one of the earliest pioneers of Kentucky. George M. was
reared on the farm, receiving a common school education. In 1870 he began
the study of medicine under Dr. Nelson Mays, of Sulphur Well. In 1872 went
to Indianapolis and attended a course of lectures in the Indiana Medical
College, returned to Sulphur Well to read medicine till [sic] 1874, in
the same year entered Ohio Medical College, graduating in 1875; from
that year to 1884 practiced successfully at Sulphur Well; then removed to
Wichita, Kas., returning in 1886. He was married, in 1870 to Miss Mary E.
Jasper, of Casey County, Ky. To their union have been born three children:
Addie, Nellie and Mary. He is a member of the A.O.U.W. The Doctor is a
courteous gentleman and a promising young physician. Parents: Dovan HENDREN and Jane TAYLOR.

William Franklin Henry
He was born and died in Garrard County. He spent his entire life in this county except from 1863 to 1868 when he ived on Hawkins Branch of Dicks River in Lincoln county, Kentucky. A record in Garrard County OB-23, 356, "ordered that William F. Henry be appointed guardian to his son James R. Henry, infant orphan of his deceased wife Sarah Ann Henry, formerly Sarah Ann Easley . . . etc." The Census of 1860 indicates he was a blacksmith.
The county records clearly establish this ancestor as a highly respectable and successful citizen. His large old farm home is of interest and is located a short distance north of the old West Point School near Hyattsville. the old family cemetery is located about a hundred yards from the house and is surrounded by an iron fence. His tombstone indicated he was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
