Peter Frederick Horine was the son of David Ulrick Horine (1698-1765), who was one time Burgomeister of the city of Dresden, Germany. The immigrant, Peter Frederick Horine, arrived at Baltimore on the ship "Loyal Edith" in April, 1780. His family settled in Hagerstown, Maryland where he and his wife raised a large family. Three of Peter's sons, Conrad (1770- ), Henry (1775-1852), Jacob (1777-1842), subsequently moved to Jessimine County, Kentucky in 1799. A fourth son, Henry (1768- ) stayed in Maryland.
