I Benjamin Pulliam of the county of Mecklenburg, Va being sick and weak of body and of perfect mind and memory, praise be God do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following. Imprimis. I will to beloved wife Anne Pullium the land and plantation where I now live containing by estimation 344 acres be the same more or less as being that part or parcel of land I purchased of Thomas Pate. Also three Negro men two of them called Pompy the other called George, also ten head of cattle, ten head of sheep, two sows and pigs, three head of horses, namely Blazier, Fancy Heavy and Cy and a bald ...... colt, two beds and furniture, and the one half of my household and kitchen, furniture and the one half of my plantation ..... During her natural life, I also lend her a Negro woman called Hannah one black called Cupid, one girl called Judah, two Negro girls called Sal and Lizzy and thus increase the other half of my household and kitchen furniture and plantation and utensils unto my son Benjamin Raglen Pulliam arrives to the age of twenty one years old. He being the said Benjamin R. Pulliam maintained well clothed and well educated in the different languages of the same. Then my son Benjamin Raglen Pulliam to him and his forever --- I give and bequeath to my son Benjamin Raglen Pulliam the land and plantation of here where I now live and my ....... land with all my lands adjoining and all the land that I possess also all of the Negroes, horses, cattle, sheep, hogs, household and kitchen furniture and plantation. Also household kitchen furniture that I possess except one bed and furniture to him and his heirs forever, but if he my son Benjamin R. Pulliam should depart this life before he arrives to the age of twenty-one years old, then my will is that my daughter Mary Willis should enjoy the one third part of his both real and personal part during her natural life then to be equally divided between my two sons John Pulliam and Barnett Pulliam. To them and to their heirs forever. But if my daughter MaryWillis should have an heir or heirs lawfully begotten then body and soul heir to have should contain the age twenty one years old, then my will is that she the said Mary Willis should have above maintained one third part of the estate when and hers forever and the remainder of his estate real and personal my will is that she ....... be equally divided between my other sons John Pulliam and Barnett Pulliam to them and to theirs forever --- Item, I give and bequeath unto my son John Pulliam one Negro man called James, one Negro boy called Lewis, one Negro woman called Nell, one Negro girl called Luck and Negro child called Nell to him and his heirs forever ---- Item. I give and bequeath to my son Barnett Pulliam one Negro lad called Ned, one Negro woman called Amy and twenty thousand pounds of .... inspected crop of tobacco to him and his heirs forever. Item. I lend to my daughter Mary Willis one Negro man called Squire and one called Toliver, one boy called Dudley, one called Dick and one Negro woman called Dinah during her natural life, but if my daughter Mary Willis should have no heirs of hers lawfully begotten not her body and such her heirs shall attain the age of twenty one years, then I further bequeath unto the said Mary Willis the .... .... ... Negroes to her and her heirs forever ---- but if she departs this life without heirs, then my will is that the said Negroes be equally divided between my three sons John Pulliam, Barnett Pulliam, Benjamin Raglan Pulliam to them and their heirs forever. I give and bequeath unto Joseph Person, son of Thomas Person one Negro boy called Oliver, one horse called Robuck and one bridle and saddle and .... furniture and him and buskins forever --- Item. I give and bequeath unto Boyd Persons, son of Dick Person one Negro boy called Randolf to him and his heirs forever. Lastly I do bequeath and ordain my sons John Pulliam, Barnett Pulliam and William Willis as my beloved Ann Pulliam any whole and sole executors and executrix of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set hand affixed my seal this 15th day of April one thousand seven hundred and ninety two.
