The application for a license for his 2nd marriage, in Green Co., Kentucky, Book 2, is witnessed by John Durrett, probably her brother. !LAND:In 1796, Madison Co., Kentucky, John buys land from William Jones on Paint Lick, Silver Creek. In 1811 John and wife Polly sell 100 acreson Paint Lick. He is mentioned in deed records in Bedford Co., Tennessee, stating that he settle there in 1814. He sold land there in 1826 to a William Fix. On 29 Nov 1813 in Deed Book #D
pg 459 in Garrard Co., Kentucky, Robert Stewart and Joseph R. Pond of Garrard Co. and John Schooler of Bedford Co., Tennessee and Catherine Pond of Garrard Co. sell to C. C. Pond all interest in a certain tract of land which Griffin Pond willed to Catherine C. Pond. In 1817-23 John Schooler of Green Co. sold land and mentions part of tract sold by Samuel Schooler.

Perhaps in order toavoid another situation that might be as trying as the one in whichshe was involved in connection with the settlement of Michael'sestate, Elizabeth drew up a legal agreement with Thomas to the effectthat "since each has children and both are desirous of obviatinguneasinesses and jealousies which too frequently arise in similarcases and tend in their consequences to interrupt the repose anddestroy the peace of families and individuals, said Elizabeth Troutmanand said Thomas Hall will retain their individual properties to bedisposed of according to the will of each." When Elizabeth died in1822 her property was appraised at $3,209.09.
