Robert Elliott Teater, 80, of Indianapolis died Friday at St. FrancisHospital.
He was a native of Jessamine County, son of the late William Bradley andChristine Brooks Teater, and was a 1937 graduate of Nicholasville HighSchool. He was a retired Greyhound Bus Lines driver and instructor, amember of Southwood Baptist Church in Beech Grove, Ind., and a member ofthe Masonic Lodge. He was a veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Covington Teater, and two daughters,Marilyn Smith and Sharon Harvey, all of Indianapolis; a son, WilliamElliott Teater of Brighton, Colo.; eight grandchildre; eightgreat-grandchildre; and two sisters, Doris Cobb of Nicholasville andPatsy Benton of Lexington. Other survivors include two uncles, CurryTeater and Gilbert Brooks, both of Jessamine County; and seven nieces andnephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Rolly Bradley, William Floydand Kirby Teater.
A Masonic service was held at Little and Sons Funeral Chapel in BeechGrove, Ind., at 6 p.m. Sunday. The funeral was held at Southwood BaptistChurch in Beech Grove.
Burial was in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Greenwood, Ind.
