The records of Garrard Co.,KY provide us with the ealiest information about Thomas Walker. Order Book 16, Page 88, August Court 1820, in the application of Peter Curtis for a Revolutionary War pension, our Thomas Walker was in North Carolina they lived in the neighhorhood during the Revolutionary War, they knew that he served in said war as a regular soldier in Continential service more than nine months in continuance four or five years.
The statement of Thomas Walker in the pension file of Peter Curtis (W-3005) in the National Archives, Wasington, DC, reads as follows: "Thomas Walker a respectable witness states on oath that he was a near
neighbor to Peter Curtis and that he was informed and believes that he and three of his brothers were several years in the regular service as soldiers in the Rev. War and also that he the said Peter Curtis lives in this county and that he is in indigent circumstances. /S/ Thmas Walker
He next appears on the 1800 Census Records in Greenville County, SC as house #870, Elijah Walker: Males 2-0/10, 1-10-16, 1-20/45: Females 2-0/10, 1-26/45 and as house #871, Thomas Walker: Mals 1-45+, 1-10/16:
Femaes 3-16/26, 1-45+.
It is believed that in 1802 he moved from Greenville County, SC to Garrard ounty, Ky, and first appeared on the latter tax records on July 15, 1803.
He also is shown in the Garrard Co. census records for 1810 and 1820. His wife Juley Walker is shown on the 1830 census, aged 80/90. Edmund Walker age 20/30: Lemuel Walker, age 30/40 (sons of Elijah Walker); and Juley walker, age 80/90, apear in consecutive order on the 1830 census of Garrard Co., Ky.
There is a Circuit Court record in Box 9, Bundle34, Suit 249, Janurary 12, 1817, Heirs of Thomas Posey, deceased, vs. Elijah Walker, whch states that Thomas Walker is the father of Elijah Walker.
