DIED HERE ON APRIL 5

The life of the late John Walsh, who died at his home on East Grove Avenue in this city on Sunday, April 5, after an extended illness, at the age of 87, is told in his obituary, complied by members of his family.
Mr. Walsh was born Sept. 15, 1843, in Athlone, West Meath County, Ireland. He was the son of John and Sarah Walsh.
In May, 1866, he sailed from Liverpool, England, coming to New York, and from there he came to Logan County, Illinois, moving the following year to Douglas County, in this state, where he was engaged in farming.
He was married to Miss Mary Louisa McKaig on Feb.17, 1874, at Tuscola. They came directly to their farm home near Rantoul, where they lived for 32 years, moving to Rantoul in 1906.
Eight children were born, One son William, died in 1885, and the following seven children survive:

HE IS ALSO SURVIVED BY ONE SISTER MRS. JOHN MURPHY, OF OSCEOLA, IA. ONE BROTHER, EDWARD T WALSH OF RANTOUL, IL AND SIXTEEN GRANDCHILDREN.
In 1866, Mr. Walsh was converted in a union meeting, Methodist and Presbyterian, held in a school house in Fancy Prairie, Menard County, Illinois, and he joined the Presbyterian Church. Later he transferred his membership to the Methodist Church in Rantoul. During the last years of his life, he gave his support to the Nazarene faith.

Mrs. Sadie Keal Dies June 15 At Arcola
Mrs. Sadie Keal, Arcola, died at 3 a.m. June 15 at the age of 74.
Services were in Arcola Methodist church at 2:30 p.m. June 17 and burial was in Arcola cemetery.
Mrs. Keal was born January 15, 1883 in Champaign County, a daughter of John and Mary Walsh. She was married February 21, 1906 to Harry Keal.
She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Pauline Steinmetz, Sullivan, Indiana; and Mrs Mary E. Blackburn, Roodhouse; a son, Harry Keal, Arcola; two brothers, David Walsh, Detroit; Lawson Walsh, Collision; and a sister, Mrs. William Sanders, Urbana.

Subject came with his parents to Indiana when nearly seven years of age, received the ordinary education of the day, and was reared to farming, owning at the present time 300 acres of excellent land. He was married, March 28, 1848, to Nancy Land, and to their union were born ten children, five of whom are living--Mahala, October 15,1851; John W., September 12,1856; Martha A., November 1, 1859; William J., September 17, 1861; and Permelia, April 28, 1865. Mrs. Walters is a daughter of James and Jane (Willis) Land, and was born in this township, September 8, 1823. Subject and wife and all his children are members of the Christian Church at Providence, near Paxton. Mr. Walters had two grandfathers in the Revolutionary war, two uncles in the war of 1812, two cousins in the Mexican war, and three brothers and one cousin in the late rebellion--not one of whom, in either struggle, was shot or wounded, although all took active parts.
