Ephraim January House

This beautiful old stone house is one of the best examples of it's kind, still standing in Kentucky. It was the home of Ephraim January and Sarah McConnell January. Ephraim acquired the land here in 1783, and moved to the site shortly afterwards . A log cabin was first built on the site, but was soon replaced with the stone house seen here today. Ephraim and Sarah lived in the Fort in Lexington before moving to this place. They were among the founders of Lexington. Ephraim January donated the land to build the Ebenezer Church. Both Ephraim and his wife, Sarah are buried there.
